Principal - Jule' Skoglund

Jule’ Skoglund has been in education for over twenty years, serving first as an elementary school teacher and then as a principal in California, Colorado and New Mexico.  She is inspired by creative teaching and enjoys working with Salazar staff to make a difference in children’s lives. Salazar Elementary in Santa Fe, New Mexico has become her school home during the past five years.  Salazar staff have committed to the following school vision:

“At Salazar Elementary our vision is to utilize learner-centric practices that promote creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking aligned to computer science standards in order to foster equity and successful, life-long learners who have strong literacy skills in English and Spanish.”

Ms. Skoglund is the proud mother of two grown sons who work in Denver, Colorado.  During school breaks she enjoys hiking, watching movies and trying out new restaurants with her sons.  Her niece and great niece often spend time with her in Santa Fe, they enjoy going to the zoo and aquarium in Albuquerque on the weekends.

Jule’ Skoglund hopes that all children will thrive, learn and prepare for successful futures.  Her desire is to continuously improve proficiency and 21st Century skills for students at Salazar Elementary School.  Through mastery of priority standards, integration of computer science and support for students in English and Spanish, she believes that all of her students can succeed.
